2024年3月28日，第31届Willem C. Vis Moot国际商事仲裁全球赛（“Vis Moot”）在奥地利首都维也纳圆满落下帷幕。
On 28 March 2024, the 31st Willem C. Vis Moot International Commercial Arbitration Global Competition (" Vis Moot ") was successfully concluded in Vienna, Austria.

Mr. Xiaosong (Lawson) Xie, partner of Beijing DHH (Shenzhen) Law Firm, was selected as a member of the jury of the Vis Moot Competition and was invited to serve as an arbitrator in the mock hearing on 26 March 2024, to fully participate in and support the competition.

Practising in the sphere of foreign-related dispute resolution and international arbitration for many years, Mr.Xie has always been supportive of those legal events relating to international law. He was also invited to participate and act as arbitrator in the 20th CIETAC CUP in 2022 hosted by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the 15th Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot - CIETAC Chinese (Mainland) National Rounds in 2023 by CIETAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center, and the FDI Moot Shenzhen 2022 Competition by Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA).
本届Vis Moot赛程自3月22日至3月28日为期7天，比赛采用全英文辩论方式进行。作为被誉为“国际商事仲裁奥林匹克”的全球性赛事，本届Vis Moot吸引了来自全球89个司法管辖区（含中国大陆以及香港特别行政区、台湾地区）的高校、研究机构共373支参赛队（其中包括来自中国大陆的15支高校代表队、来自香港特别行政区的2支高校代表队以及来自台湾地区的2支高校代表队）、2,500名选手同场竞技，来自全球各个国家或地区共计1,100名国际仲裁专家担任比赛评委，充分体现了该赛事在专业性和国际化方面的最高水平。
Conducted in English, the Vis Moot Competition this year lasted for 7 days, from 22 March to 28 March. As a event globally known as the "Olympic of International Commercial Arbitration", it has attracted 373 teams of universities or research institutions from 89 jurisdictions (including 15 teams from Chinese Mainland, 2 teams from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), and 2 teams from Taiwan region) all around the world, comprised of 2,500 students in total to participate as mooties, and 1,100 international arbitration experts from various countries or regions across the globe to act as arbitrators, fully reflecting the highest level of professionalism and internationalization of the competition.
经过激烈角逐，最终博锐思法学院（Bucerius Law School）代表队斩获冠军（Winner under Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals），维也纳大学（University of Vienna）代表队摘得亚军（Runner-up under Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals），普里什蒂纳大学（University of Pristina）代表队和图宾根大学（University of Tübingen）代表队并列季军（Second Runner-up under Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals）。
After a fierce competition, the team from the Bucerius Law School won the Winner under Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals. The Runner-up under Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals came from University of Vienna,. The team from the University of Pristina and the team from University of Tübingen tied for the Second Runner-up Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals.

The purpose of the Vis Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration and provide a practical training to students for resolving international business disputes. The business community’s marked preference for resolving international commercial disputes by arbitration is the reason this method of dispute resolution was selected as the clinical tool to train law students.
There are two crucial phases in the Vis Moot to train advocacy skills: the writing of memoranda for claimant and respondent and the presentation of arguments in oral hearings held before arbitration practitioners and academics. The forensic and written exercises require determining questions of contract — flowing from a transaction relating to the sale or purchase of goods under the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and other uniform international commercial law.
The dispute is resolved in the context of an arbitration under specified Arbitration Rules. In the pairings of teams for each general round, every effort is made to have civil law schools argue against common law schools — so each may learn from approaches taken by persons trained in another legal culture. Similarly, the teams of arbitrators judging each round are from both common law and civil law backgrounds.
